Make sure you visit one of the ten restaurants in the town or one of the taverns outside it , which are like village inns. You should taste the local specialities like the bread from Vis and the grilled sardines.

A traditional Vis recipe
VIS HIB (Radovan Maračić "Message to gourmands")
Grind 1 kg of dried figs and mix with 250g of dried, chopped almonds (or walnuts). Add herb brandy to make the dough and form small cakes. Let them dry over a couple of days in the bura. Put a bay leaf and fennel twig on top. Serve sliced with brandy or liqueur.
