The Lofoten Islands

Norway's Lofoten Islands are known for excellent fishing and nature attractions, and small villages off the beaten track. During summer, the sun never sets over white beaches with clear green water and sea teaming with fish. There are towering mountains with pointed peaks which reflect the red glow of the midnight sun.
Lofoten is best explored as a local. Rent a fisherman's cozy cottage, try your luck at catching cod, and take in the beauty of the midnight sun and northern lights from the islands' pebble beaches.
