Silba/island of Silba

Silba is unique in many respects. There are no cars or motorbikes on the island, while bicycles are very rarely seen. Peace and quiet rule over the island, which, with the unspoiled nature, leads to an atmosphere of complete relaxation. The only vehicles allowed are hand carts on two wheels and tractors with trailers, which are most often used by the locals and tourists for transporting objects to and from the arriving boats. Island regulations allow tractors to be used only one hour before and one hour after the arrival of a boat. The island is ideal for families with small children. There are no hotels on Silba, which means that accommodation is available only in private houses.

The island of Silba offers ideal shelter from the bura and sirocco winds in this part of the Adriatic. In the south-west part of Silba, Sveti Ante Bay and its 30 buoys offer protection from the bura. Protection from the sirocco is afforded when docking at Mul in front of the village of Silba. There are 30 transit mooring places on the land side of the pier, while in front of the pier, during the sailing season there are also some 30 buoys to accommodate boats. The total island capacity is 90 mooring places. Apart from these safe berths, it is also possible to anchor in Papranica Bay and in front of the harbour pier.
