10 of the best European islands that you’ve probably never heard of
The Guardian recommends ten beautiful islands in Europe which many have probably never heard of. The Croatian island of Mljet is included in the list, along with the Norwegian Lyngør, the Irish Inis Oírr, the Greek Aegina, the French Belle-Île en Mer, the Estonian Hiiumaa etc.
They state that Odysseus was allegedly held captive there for seven years and they especially praise the nature and purity of the sea.
