VALUN HARBOUR/island of Cres

The best mooring in Valun is stern-on to the jetty. There is room for around 10 vessels on the jetty. Boats with bigger drafts should moor at the end of the jetty where the water is deeper.

Valun is safe only when the weather is calm and stable. In particular, it is not advisable to moor in Valun when the bura is blowing. The harbour breakwater offers only partial protection from north-westerly winds. The most secure place on Valun is Nedomisje Bay, which is opposite Valun. There is a large iron buoy in this bay and one should be careful when approaching at night time. At the end of the bay, there is a big camping beach. Cars are not allowed on Valun and it is one of the most tranquil inhabited places in the Adriatic.
