One of the more difficult marathon races is also one of the most unusual in the world, and is held every year in early September on the peninsular with the start and finish in a historic jewel, the small town of Ston. The course, though stressful, is well thought-out - after the first easy kilometer at the beginning when the body and the spirit gradually prepare, the race continues along the steep high Ston walls which stay on the left side of the track. After the walls and passing through Ston, the track gives an opportunity to rest and catch up along a straight path by the sea. Refreshed, you are ready to go through a pass which takes you to a new world, a world of wild nature and magnificent views through which only the road passes.On this course you will not achieve a personal record, you will not even be close. You will not see any crowds, you will not hear their noise, you will not see advertisements. You will see untouched nature, you will feel the history. It will be hard, very hard, but unforgettable.
