This Festival has become one of the flavourite gathering points for European theatre enthusiasts with a special love for an unconventional approach to the stage and performing arts. At the international level, the name of the Festival stands for provocation and challenge. Independent theatre production has for many years been in full swing and the audiences have recognised it. It therefore comes as no surprise that some of the most stirring theatre productions have been produced by the creative energy of small theatre stages. In addition to theatres from all the neighbouring countries, theatres from the UK, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and other European countries have also performed in Rijeka. Among the many famous names, we should highlight the performance of the leading lady of the Italian Theatre, Emmy Dante, and the winner of the European award for new theatre realities, Alvis Hermanis. We believe this year's Festival will surprise us in a pleasant way with its guest performers and various shows.
