The historical festival of Giostra takes us back to the distant history of Poreč. To be more precise, back to the year 1672 when, according to the archive records of the Regional Museum of Poreština and the National Archive in Pazin, a popular fiesta known as Fiera franca friudana took place in the streets of Poreč. Its participants competed in crossbow shooting, a variety of dances and popular games, but the main attraction was the Giostra horse race.
