Curry plant/Helichrysum italicum

Description of the species:
Aromatic semi-shrub, 20-60 cm in height, woody and branching at the bottom. The branches spread out, flattened or upright, and while they are young, are covered with hair. The leaves are sitting, lineal, more or less felt-like (often completely bare), 1-3 cm long and bent at the edges, while the wrapping leaves are light-yellow. The cylindrical, golden-yellow flower heads are 2-4 mm in diameter and somewhat elongated. Several flower heads are gathered on the tips of the branches in a composite shield-like blossom, up to 8 cm in diameter. Flowers between April and July. Grows in dry places, rocks and sands near the sea.

Protection:
The species is protected in accordance with the Ordinance on designating protected and strictly protected wild species (Official Gazette 7/06 and 99/09).
